Fourth Showing of People, Buildings and Sites of the Winton Triangle Exhibit: July 27 -
August 1 in Murfreesboro, NC.

After a well-received showing at the Juneteenth observance in the Robert L. Vann School in Ahoskie, NC, Chowan Discovery's Winton Triangle exhibit now moves to Murfreesboro. The host is the Albemarle Regional Library. The exhibit opening is Thursday July 27, 11am at the Elizabeth Sewell Parker Memorial Library, 213 S. Main Street, Murfreesboro. Phone is 252-398-4494. The exhibit closes on August 1, 2023. The library is open from 10am to 6pm, Thursday, Friday and Monday; 10am-2pm Saturday and closed on Sunday. The Winton Historical Society is hosting the next showing on September 23 in Winton.

The mission of the Chowan Discovery Group is to research, document, preserve and present the history of the Winton Triangle, a 280-year-old landowning community of people of color.

 

In carrying out the mission of the CDG, we endeavor to enrich the Roanoke-Chowan area. The Chowan Discovery Group is a 501 (c) 3 tax-exempt charitable organization.
