Sep 27, 2022

Exhibit of 25 Buildings and Sites to be shown starting in March 2023

The Winton Triangle's people produced significant buildings and sites: schools, churches, shops, funeral homes, farms and even the Atlantic District Fair. North Carolina Humanities has accepted Chowan Discovery's proposal to exhibit 25 of these buildings and sites along with stories of the people who made them. "Building a Mixed Race Community...." will begin its tour at venues in Hertford County in March. Among the hosts of the exhibit are the Albemarle Regional Library, the C.S. Brown Regional Cultural Arts Center and Museum, New Ahoskie Baptist Church, the Roanoke Chowan Community College and the Winton Historical Association.

Other venues will be added and the exhibit's tour will continue into 2024.
